The Water agency Association would organize the 1st Festival of educational programs about water – WEP EFFECT 2020 in Rogaška Slatina on September 25th and 26th , 2020 . The program is organized in the Cultural Center Rogaška Slatina and through the ZOOM platform for all participants who are not able to come and attend live.
Networking and cooperation of educational institutions and public service providers in the local environment is crucial for cooperation in the integrated management of water resources and in the exercise of the inalienable right to drinking water. Through networking, we strengthen education about local water resources and their protection for healthy water supply. The international project Water Agent has been establishing such cooperation for many years. As part of the project, children and adolescents are educated about the local environment and water resources and raise awareness of the need to protect and manage the environment and water resources responsibly. At the time of presence in addition to the rational use of water, COVID-19 is an important awareness of the importance of handwashing as prevention against infection.
In accordance with the topic: Water education – sustainable communication with the public, utility companies for water supply, sewerage, and wastewater treatment have been invited to the competitive part of the program. An international jury of six members will evaluate the works in four categories – printed materials, videos, educational applications or websites, stage display, or object. Eight of the best works from all categories and the best work of the Festival will be presented at the program.
The 1st international Festival WEP EFFECT 2020 is organized under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor.
