We invite you to the 5th International Conference of the Water agency Association on the theme “Water for Tomorrow”, which will be held on October 11th and 12th, 2019 in Rogaška Slatina, in the Ana’s Maison.
The presence of water on Earth allows the life of living beings for millions of years, but rapid population growth and rising living standards greatly increase pressures on water and water resources. Its quantitative and qualitative state is becoming more and more alarming, as it is already alarming, and therefore water becomes an increasingly valuable natural resource. At the same time, we must not forget about climate change, which is an additional threat to water resources.
In the Water agency educates and informs the general public about the importance of water resources and the urgency of their protection. We pay particular attention to pupils at schools who are future users of the environment, so it is important that they develop into responsible individuals who care for our environment and especially for water resources. In the framework of the Association at schools in Slovenia and other countries of the Danube region, the project is a Water agent, the main purpose of which is to educate and raise awareness of the importance of water resources and the rationalization of water consumption. We are still not fully aware of our impact on water and water resources, just because each of us contributes to its pollution. The aim of the project is to encourage students to reflect on the importance of water resources, the need for their protection, and the rationalization and reduction of daily water use with the least possible pollution. In order to achieve the set goals, we are connecting with schools and many other organizations in Slovenia and other Danube countries.
The purpose of this year’s 5th International Conference of the Society is to link and exchange experiences and approaches to responsible water management and integrate themes into the educational process.
The conference is divided into two content strands. On the first day, October 11th, 2019, the red thread will be the integration and cooperation of various water management stakeholders who do not know the national borders. We will head off to Rijeka and Karlovac in Croatia where water and water management experts will present water status and the importance of proper water management in field trips and lectures.
On the second day, on October 12th, 2019, various international projects will be presented on water in education, while teachers from schools from Slovenia and other countries of the Danube region will present their experiences and examples of good practices for water integration into the educational process, with an emphasis on the implementation of the Water agency schools. At the end of the conference we will jointly set goals for the next school year.
An international conference is an opportunity to exchange experiences, opinions and socializing of all that we do not care about our environment, especially for water and water resources.
The conference is attended by experts from the field of water management and management, associates from partner organizations, coordinators and teachers at schools and all others interested. You can participate in the conference with active participation in the press, written contributions or as a listener.
