We Draw, Paint, Write, Sing, and Perform About Water

1. PURPOSE OF THE FESTIVAL
The shortage of clean drinking water is an increasingly serious global challenge. Rapid population growth, climate change, and pollution are steadily reducing the availability and quality of freshwater resources. The WATER 2026 Festivalis an international artistic and educational event dedicated to raising awareness of the responsible use and protection of water. Through artistic expression—music, literature, visual arts, and video—the festival aims to emphasize the vital importance of water as a fundamental natural resource and a shared global responsibility.
2. COMPETITION CATEGORIES
Participants may submit works in one or more of the following categories:
- Music: Performance of a musical piece on the theme of water (e.g. *Water Is Freedom*)
or an original musical composition. - Literature: Poems, essays, or short stories inspired by the theme of water.
- Visual Arts: Drawings, paintings, or other visual artworks related to the theme of water.
- Video: Original video works addressing the theme of water.
3.CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
3.1 Eligibility
The call is open internationally to educational institutions, individuals, and groups. Participants under the age of 18 must submit written consent from a parent or legal guardian. Each educational institution (school) may submit up to three entries per category. Each group (e.g. class) may submit one entry per category. Individual participants may submit one entry per category.
3.2 Submission Procedure
Each participant must complete the online application form and application form available on the website of the Water Agency Association. The completed and signed application form must be submitted together with the entry. All submissions must be sent electronically no later than 31 January 2026 to: festival@vodnaagencija.org
3.3 Technical Requirements
Submitted works must comply with the following formats:
- Music: MP3 audio files or video files in MP4, MOV, or AVI format
- Literature: PDF files
- Visual Arts: photographs or scans in JPG format
- Video:MP4, MOV, or AVI format
Incomplete or improperly submitted entries will not be considered.
4. EVALUATION CRITERIA
Entries will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Creativity and artistic expression
- Technical quality of execution
- Originality
- Relevance to the festival theme

7. ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS AND AWARDS
Winners in each category will be announced at the closing ceremony of the WATER 2026 Festival on 20 March 2026 in Rogaška Slatina, Slovenia. The winning entry in each category will receive a WATER 2026 Festival Trophy. All participating authors will receive an official certificate of participation.
